This in-home newborn session was one for the books. Mom (a NICU nurse) and Dad (a physical therapist) welcomed me into their home with their brand-new baby girl and her very excited big brother. With grandparents and an aunt in town to help, the house was full of love, warmth, and just the right amount of chaos (thanks to one energetic 3-year-old).
Baby girl was just two weeks old, which meant lots of nursing breaks and a little extra snuggling before she drifted off. And let me tell you—watching a NICU nurse mama swaddle a baby is like watching a magician at work. She had that baby wrapped up and snoozing in seconds. Well, mostly—Baby Girl loved keeping one arm out, so we just rolled with it.
Big brother kept us all entertained, fueled by “lem&ms” (his adorable way of saying M&Ms) as bribery for those big smiles. We captured sweet, natural moments in the light-filled master bedroom and the nursery, where Mom’s own childhood crib and family heirlooms made everything feel extra sentimental.
The final images? Pure magic. The perfect mix of joy, love, and a little bit of beautiful, real-life chaos.
