Capturing Senior Photos in NWA: Reece’s Story
Senior photos in NWA hold a special place in my heart, and I’m thrilled to share Reece’s session with you. His mom, Lisa, joined us for a beautiful evening filled with laughter, memories, and meaningful moments. While Lisa and I had a great time, I’m not entirely sure Reece would say the same. Spending three hours in 90+ degree heat while the Razorbacks were playing isn’t every 17-year-old’s idea of fun. But Reece was a trooper. He humored us, relaxed in front of the camera, and turned this into one of my favorite sessions ever.
Starting on the Baseball Field
We began Reece’s session on the baseball diamond at Life Way Christian School, where he plays shortstop. Baseball is just one of his passions—he’s also on the basketball and golf teams. Starting here helped Reece feel comfortable while we talked and let him toss a ball around. I captured candid, natural shots as he got into the swing of things.
Exploring the Family Farm
Next, we headed to their family farm, which was breathtaking. The evening light highlighted green rolling hills, hay bales, and a century-old farmhouse. Cattle grazed nearby, and a cool creek flowed through the property. It felt like stepping into a scene from a storybook.
We took some traditional portraits, but Reece’s favorite part came later. He changed into his everyday clothes and grabbed his fishing pole. Fishing in the creek has been a family tradition for generations. Watching him fish, I could tell this was his happy place.
A Special Moment for Mom
While Reece fished, I asked Lisa how she’ll remember him at 17. She smiled and said, “This. THIS is how I’ll always think of him.” Her words gave me chills. As a mom of boys, it was a sweet reminder of how precious these fleeting moments are.
It’s easy to take the everyday for granted. But watching Reece, I saw how these simple traditions—like fishing in the creek—define childhood. These moments matter.
A Reminder to Cherish the Time
Spending the evening with Reece and Lisa left me reflective. My little boys are growing up so fast. One day, they’ll be young men, just like Reece. I can only hope they’ll love Jesus, baseball, and their mama, too.
Reece, thank you for letting me capture your senior photos in NWA. I hope your senior year is everything you dream it will be!
