Hi! It’s been a minute! October is by far my busiest month—babies are making their grand entrances, families are squeezing in fall photos, and pregnancy announcements are popping up left and right! Additionally, my own little one has been battling recurrent ear infections and has decided that the best time to party is all night, every night—but only with me, of course. Not my husband. Just me. So, if you see me surviving on coffee and sheer willpower… no, you didn’t.

But even in the chaos, getting out of the house with my camera is exactly what I need. Last week, I had the sweetest Fresh 48 Photography session at Mercy Hospital Labor and Delivery. I LOVED capturing those once-in-a-lifetime first hours with a brand-new baby boy. The energy in the room was calm, peaceful—the way the first 48 hours should be.

Mama looked amazing. Seriously, how do some moms look like they just stepped out of a spa instead of giving birth?! Big sister Bella was completely smitten with her baby brother. The moment he let out the tiniest little peep, she immediately started singing Rock-a-bye Baby. I almost melted on the spot. It was magic. Pure, sweet, newborn magic.

These early hospital sessions are why I love Fresh 48 Photography so much. There’s something so special about capturing those raw, emotional moments—the first snuggles, the tiny fingers wrapped around yours, the way a new mom looks at her baby with complete awe.
