Andrew and Abby’s engagement session happened last week and it was incredibly fun.  Becka and I have been looking forward to shooting this session together for months!  Remember our Engagement Session Giveaway back in July? Well this was it! Andrew had just popped the question a few weeks earlier and so Abby entered the giveaway.  It was perfect timing.  We started our session at Compton Gardens and then headed Downtown Bentonville (including The Record).  We enjoyed every minute with these two and are so grateful they shared their time with us!

Andrew and Abby have the sweetest love story.  They met in undergrad at the University of Arkansas.  She was a sophomore and he was a freshman.  He said he liked her right away but she didn’t know it until her senior year!  With a solid foundation of friendship, they started dating right after she graduated.  For their first date, Andrew did some investigating and found out she loves Thai food.  He took her to Taste of Thai in Fayetteville and then Andy’s for dessert.  (Well done, sir. Well done).

After two years of dating, they took the next step.  One sweet night in June, Andrew told Abby they were going on a picnic.  She got ready to go, but instead of Andrew showing up, her roommate directed her on a scavenger hunt.  At each point, Andrew had a clue for the next stop.  The clues led her around the U of A (Founder’s Hall, where they first met), Downtown Fayetteville, and then a special “new” place for them-a spot in the Razorback gardens.  Andrew had set the scene with flowers, candles, and photos.  He got down on one knee and she obviously said YES!

Andrew and Abby’s love for each other is fairy tale level, y’all.  When I asked what they love about each other, Andrew said he loves her smile (we agree; it’s contagious), her heart for others, and her authenticity.  Abby said she loves that he is fun, thoughtful with his words, and an exceptionally good listener. She said, “He is consistently a good man, no matter who is around or what the situation is.”

Andrew and Abby are planning a wedding next May in McKinney, Texas.  They both said that they can’t wait for that “first look” on their wedding day.  We have no doubt it will be magical!

To the future Mr. and Mrs. Bennett, we are so happy for you!  You are two wonderful individuals who radiate kindness, joy, and the light of Jesus!  You make a fantastic team.  We are so lucky that we had the opportunity to celebrate this stage of your relationship with you.  Cheers to a lifetime of love!

ABOUT leslie

Now that I'm a mom, I know the secret: we don't know everything. We are growing and changing, right alongside our little ones.
Motherhood is sanctifying, changing me in ways I never expected.

My days may seem filled with NERF bullets, diapers, and endless laundry, but they are really filled with moments of profound connection and love as I raise my babies.

Through my lens, I strive to celebrate the beauty of motherhood in all its forms. From the messy chaos to the quiet moments, I want to honor the sacred bond between you and your child and capture the joy and wonder that it brings.
